John Cox, 71, of Chesterhill, passed away at his residence on Tues. Mar. 17, 2026. He was born to the late James W. Cox and Phyllis J. Miller Cox in Ashland, KY on May 10, 1954. He was in the U.S. Army and was an avid coon hunter. He is survived by his significant other, Connie Harper of the home; son, Christopher Cox of Germany; daughter, Julia Rauch of Germany; stepdaughters, Tiffany and Kristy Hollingsworth both of Alabama; brothers, James W. Cox ii and Charles E. Bolen both of Ironton, OH; sisters, Marcheeta Kitts of Ironton, OH and Tammy Thompson of St. Cloud, FL; 7 grandchildren and 2 great-grandchildren. He is preceded in death by his parents; brothers, Larry and Keith Cox and sister, Phyllis Woods. Stone-Matheney Funeral Home in Chesterhill is handling a caring cremation for the family.
