John Galen Nelson 77, of McConnelsville, was born July 29, 1937, to James and Maggie Gorrell Nelson. He married Wanda Sue Foraker on June 9, 1956. He passed away, suddenly, on Friday, April 10, 2015 at his home. John and Wanda moved to Neelysville in 1959 where he worked in his family cabinet shop, from 1965 to 1975 he taught in the TNI at Morgan High School. He was a cabinet maker and did interior trim until retirement in 2004.He has been a minister of Jehovah's Witness since October, 1957. He is survived by his wife Wanda Nelson, four children (and their spouses); Thomas Nelson (Mandy) of Granville;Jeff Nelson (Keren) of Roseville; Bill Nelson (Meredith) of Mooresville, North Carolina; and Susie Arnold of Columbus; six grandchildren Jacob Montgomery (Andrea) and family, Ben Nelson, Myranda Nelson (Tim), John T. Nelson, Andy Arnold and Wes Arnold; sister Mary Blackburn (Dale) and a special niece Linda Blackburn and many friends. In addition to his parents he was preceded in death by one brother Raymond Nelson and two sisters Ada Nelson Blackburn and Marjorie Nelson Walder. Calling hours will be held from 4 to 8 p.m. Tuesday, April 14, 2015 at Miller-Huck Funeral Home in McConnelsville.
