Obituary

McCONNELSVILLE - John William Riley, 56, of Wood Avenue, Jackson, passed away at 6:33 p.m. Monday, Feb. 9, 2009, at his home. He was born April 24, 1952, in McConnelsville, to Opal Marshall Riley and the late William Riley. He was a mechanic at Dallas Cheverlet in Jackson and a U.S. Army veteran. He is survived by his mother, Opal Marshall Riley of McConnelsville; one son, Chad (Jennifer) Riley of Stockport; three brothers, Terry and Troy Riley of McConnelsville, and Tony Riley of Goosecreek, S.C.; four sisters, Shirley Wickham of Caldwell, Joy Wickham of McConnelsville, Sandy Statts of Bucyrus and Brenda Parmiter of McConnelsville; one grandson, Johnathon Hamilton of Jackson; and two granddaughters, Kendra and Kayla Riley of Stockport. In addition to his father, he was preceded in death by one brother, Robert Galen Riley. Calling hours will be 5 to 8 p.m. today, Feb. 11, at Matheney Funeral Home in McConnelsville. Funeral services are 1 p.m. Thursday, Feb. 12, 2009, at the funeral home, with the Rev. Galen Finley officiating. Burial will be in Malta Union Cemetery.
