John Robert Stout, 64, of McConnelsville, OH, formerly of Columbus, passed away Saturday January 12, 2012 at Riverside Country Care Center. He was born March 16, 1948, in Columbus, OH, where he spent most of his life, the eldest son of the late James and H. Jane Daniels Stout. Although stricken with polio as a child, he went on to become a ballroom dance instructor in his early 20s. He worked in the pathology department at Children's Hospital in his early adulthood. After working at several other jobs in Columbus and later Phoenix, he retired to Morgan County to oversee the care of his beloved mother in her declining years. Having lived a few years in Arizona, John embraced his inner cowboy and will be remembered as "the man from the west" by those who came to know him in the McConnelsville community he loved so well. John is survived by two daughters: Angela Stout of Greenbrier, AR, and Lori (Tom) Forys of Buffalo, NY; one son: Derek Stout of Phoenix; Two grandsons: Shay Stout and Andrew Forys; Two sisters: Barbara Vagnoni of Boynton Beach, FL, and Maíri (Dan) Adams of The Plains, OH; Four brothers: Bill of Delaware, OH, Jim (Karen) of Sunbury, OH, Bob (Brenda) of Malta, OH, and Mike of Boynton Beach, FL. Friends may call at the Cornerstone South Family Life Church 160 S. 5th St., McConnelsville, where John was a member, Friday, January 18, from 6-7 p.m., after which a memorial service will be held.
