John Robert Wharton, 74, of McConnelsville, formerly of Lexington, Ky, passed away on Sun, Sept. 15 at the Highland Oaks Nursing Home.  He was born on Sept. 24, 1949 in St. Albans, WV. To the late James and Halcyon Melton Wharton.  He worked as a massage Therapist and Landscaping.  He had a love for music and was a drummer for many bands over the years.  He is survived by 2 brothers, James Wharton of Miami Fla. And William Wharton of Fairmont, WV.  He is preceded in death by his parents and 2 sisters, June Rand and Mary Jo Reaser.  Matheney Funeral Home in McConnelsville is handling a caring cremation for the family.
