Joseph E. (JJ ) Jennings Joseph E (JJ )Jennings, 76, of McConnelsville passed away suddenly on Sunday, Sept 30,2018. He was born on Jan. 6th, 1942 in Sylacauga, Alabama. He attended St. Johns Military School in Salina, Kansas for two years and graduated H.S. in his home town of Hampton, la. Joe was proud to have served in the U S Navy and served in Alaska, and aboard the USS Little Rock, and the USS Springfield in the Mediterranean Sea as a Communications technician, Security group, on the Admirals staff. After his military service, he attended collage classes in Brussels Belgium, Iowa, and Indiana University. Joe loved sports, which he played, and later coached youth teams. While living in Indianapolis for many years he enjoyed sailing, and discovered the game of Rugby which he played until he was 48 years old. Joe worked as a regional sales manager for IBM and later as a National sales trainer for Digital Equipment Corp where he taught corporate sales classes all over the U.S. and he was a volunteer and trainer on the Indy suicide hotline for 12 years. Joe loved riding motorcycles with his friends through the beautiful hills here in S.E. Ohio. As a proud member of the Christian Motorcycle Assoc, he volunteered at the Zanesville Juvenile Detention Center encouraging the boys to make better choices that would bring them better results and thus, a better life. He also belonged to the Disabled Vets and American Legion Honor Guard. Joe is survived by his loving wife, Connie Bateson Jennings whom he married in 2013, and his three sons. Pierre (Susie) Jennings ofMt. Pleasant, S C., Marc (Nikki) Jennings, and Eric (Edina) Jennings all of Phoenix, Az; grandsons James and Robert Jennings; his brother Tom Jennings of NYC. Three step-sons; Rick (Angela) Baldwin; Randy (Melanie) Baldwin, and Tony (Tina) Bateson. Joe attended Malta Bible Church, and he is an organ donor. A Memorial Service for Joe will be held on Tues. October 9th at 2:00 at Malta Bible Church, in Malta, Oh
