Obituary

Judith C. Tate Smith, 69 of Belpre, died on Sat. April 12, 2014 at the Camden Clark Hospital in Parkersburg. She was born on March 23, 1945 in Cutler, Ohio to the late Leo James and Fearl B. Harris Tate. She retired from DuPont in Parkersburg where she worked as a Medical Technologist. She attended the Faith Assembly of God in Canal Winchester and served 13 years on the Belpre city council. She is survived by 1 son, Jerrod W (Heather Roach) Smith of Knoxville, TN, 1 daughter, Terri M. Smith of Belpre, 2 brothers, Paul Tate of Canal Winchester, Don Tate of Columbus, 2 sisters, Cathy Davis of Canal Winchester, Rita Tate of Groveport, 3 step-grandchildren, Justus T. Smith, Derek Thomson and Brittany Simms and 1 step-great granddaughter, Lilly Simms. She is preceded in death by her parents, 2 brothers, Dwight and Jimmy Tate, 3 sisters, Frani Tate, Esther Croston and Virginia Norris. Services will be held on Thursday, April 17, 2014 at 1:00 P.M. at the Bethel Wesleyan Church near Amesville with Pastor W. Ray Richards officiating. Burial will follow in the Old Quaker Friends Cemetery near Cutler. Friends may call on the family on Weds, April 16 from 5-8 P.M. at the Stone-Matheney Funeral Home in Chesterhill and 1 hour prior to the services at the church.
