Kenneth Laman Hanson 28, of 1635 Main Street Stockport passed away Thursday, Sept. 10, 2009 in Cambridge following a gas well accident near Cambridge. He was born Dec. 12, 1980 in Marietta. He was a rig operator for CHIPCO LLC in Zanesville. He served in the U.S. Marine Corp. for four years and attended the Seventh Street Church of Christ in McConnelsville. He was very active and was a Lieutenant in the Stockport Volunteer Fire Department where he was Fire Fighter of the Year twice. He also graduated from the Fire Academy and was a member of the American Legion Post #24 in McConnelsville. Surviving are his parents, Steve Hanson and Alice Beasley Hanson of Stockport; fiance, Lorrie Saboley and her daughter, Meredith of Stockport; two brothers, Staff Sergeant Barry Hanson of Camp Le June, N.C. and Lance Corporal Adam Hanson of Twenty-Nine Palms, CA; paternal grandparents, Loy Laman and Martha Hanson of McConnelsville; maternal grandparents, Kenneth and Terry Beasley of Sarasota, FL. Calling hours will be held Sunday, September 13 from 2-4 and 6-8 pm at the Miller-Huck Funeral Home in McConnelsville. Funeral Services will be held at 11:00 am Monday at the Seventh Street Church of Christ in McConnelsville with Evangelists Randy Baker and Sam Bartrug officiating. Burial with Military Honors by the Morgan County Veterans will be in Fairview Cemetery near Stockport. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to the Stockport Volunteer Fire Department/EMS. Condolences may be sent to the family at www.miller-huck.com and click obituaries.
