Kenneth W. Vernon, 93, of Amesville, passed away on Mon. Jan. 1, 2018 at his daughters home in Vincent, Ohio. He was born on April 21, 1924 in Amesville to the late Fred and Myrle Linscott Vernon. He retired from ODOT and then worked as a janitor and bus driver for the Federal Hocking School System. He was a member of the Amesville United Methodist Church, 75 year member of the Amesville Grange #798 and a 70 year member of the Amesville Masonic Lodge #278. He is survived by his wife, June Morrison Vernon of the home, a son, Kent W. Vernon of Amesville, a daughter, Lynnette V. (David) Richards of Vincent, 4 grandchildren and 9 great grandchildren. He is preceded in death by his parents. Services will be held at 1:00 p.m. Thursday, January 4, 2018 at the Stone-Matheney Funeral Home in Chesterhill with Pastor Carrie Ator James officiating. Burial will be in the Sand Rock Cemetery , Amesville, Ohio. Friends may call from 4:00 - 7:00 p.m. on Weds. Jan 3 at the funeral home. Masonic Services will be held at 7:00.
