Kenneth Ray Veyon, 73, of Malta, passed away on Thursday, Feb. 23, 2017 at the Genesis Hospital in Zanesville. He was born in Crooksville on October 3, 1943 to the late Kenneth A. and Myra Reed Veyon. He worked as an operator for the Central Ohio Coal Company before his retirement. He served his country in the U.S. Army during Vietnam and was a member of the American Legion Post #24 in McConnelsville and the VFW Post # 4713 in Malta. He is survived by his wife, Jane Cory Veyon of the home, 2 sons, Kelly (Teresa) Veyon of Hackney and Jason (Alicia) Veyon of Pennsville, 1 daughter, Kim (Calvin) Dulaney of Malta, 9 grandchildren, Eddie, Justin, Derek, Kerri, Brody, Colin, Laken, Haylea and Laci Veyon and 1 great grandson Jensen, 4 step-daughters, Shari Winstanley, Terri Webb, Kathy Bankes and Wendy Rummer, 12 step-grandchildren and 13 step-great grandchildren. He is preceded in death by his parents, 1st wife, Ruth Pettet Veyon, a granddaughter, Ashlea Newburn and 3 sisters. A visitation for family and friends will be held on Sunday, Feb. 26, 2017 from 2-4 P.M. at the Matheney Funeral Home in McConnelsville with Veteran Services following at 4 P.M.
