L. Madge "Peg" Hughes 89, of McConnelsville passed away at 5:21 a.m. Tuesday November 30, 2010 at the Genesis Good Samaritan Hospital in Zanesville. She was born September 29, 1921 in London, Ohio the daughter of the late Roy Gilmore and Mary Snyder Gilmore. She was the former owner of the Hughes Main Street Restaurant and the Hughes Variety Shop in McConnelsville. She was very involved in her grandchildren's and great grandchildren's activities and sporting events. She is survived by one daughter, Georgianna (Allen) Gibeaut of Malta ; six grandchildren Doug Hughes,Denise Wallace, Melanie Bragg, Melissa Brownrigg, Michelle Daughtery, and Monica King; twelve great grandchildren, and three great great grandchildren.In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband Lloyd R. Hughes ; one son Dick Hughes; one sister and one brother. Calling hours will be held from 2 to 4 and 6 to 8 p.m. Thursday, Dec 2, 2010 at the Miller-Huck Funeral Home in McConnelsville where services will be held at 1 p.m. Friday Dec. 3, 2010 with Pastor Bill Bentley officiating. Burial will be in McConnelsville Cemetery.
