BARTLETT - Larry G. Chesser, 63, of Bartlett, Ohio, died Monday (Nov. 16, 2009) at Marietta Memorial Hospital in Marietta. He was born on June 15, 1946, in Bartlett, to the late Leslie V. and Florence L. Cox Chesser. He was a retired welder for the U.S. Army Core of Engineers out of the Marietta Repair station and was a Vietnam Army Veteran. He was a member of Veterans of Foreign Wars Post 5108 in Marietta and the Wesley Township Volunteer Fire Department. He is survived by his wife, Darlene Wallace Chesser of the home; two sons, Jason (Sherry Ann) Chesser of Bartlett and Justin (Bonnie) Chesser, also of Bartlett; two daughters, Kerri Shartle of Belpre and Sheri (Craig) Jarvis of Bartlett; two brothers, Vernon Leo Chesser of Barlow and Dave Dillworth of Chesapeake; and nine grandchildren. He was preceded in death by his parents; and two sisters, Doris Dillworth and Lavina Rowland. A memorial service will be held at 4 p.m. Friday (Nov. 20, 2009) at the Stone-Matheney Funeral Home in Chesterhill with the Rev. Helen Kline presiding. Friends may call from noon until service time on Friday. In lieu of flowers, make donations to the Wesley Township Volunteer Fire Department.
