Obituary

Lee B. Hambel, 94, of Malta, passed away on Fri, Dec. 27, 2024 at his residence.  He was born on Dec. 16, 1930 in Rosseau, Ohio to the late Delford and Jessie Starrett Hambel.  He served his country in the U.S. Army in the 25th Infantry Combat Engineers "The Tropical Lighting Division" in the Korean Conflict and retired from Gould Inc. (Miba) in McConnelsville after 26 years.  He is survived by a brother, Kenny Hambel of Malta, 2 sisters, Rosemary Soloman of Maryland and Ester Wilson of Oklahoma, 5 grandchildren, several great grandchildren.  He is preceded in death by his parents, wife, Doris Culver Hambel, a step-son, Dennis Kamento, 2 step-daughters, Vickie Pastol and Cheryl Williams, 5 Brothers, Harry, Arthur, Wayne, Joe and Warren Hambel and 7 sisters, Irene Spencer, Inez Shepard, Nellie Miller, Shirley Rhodes, Frances Shepard, Martha Ball and Ruth Scott.  Services will be held on Tues, Dec. 31 at 11:00 A.M. at the Matheney Funeral Home in McConnelsville with burial following in the Rosseau Cemetery.  Friends may call on the family from 9-11:00 A.M. on the day of the services.  To send a note of condolence to the family go to www.matheneyfh.com.
