Lenora E. Fischer, 67 of Columbus, departed this life on Friday, October 28, 2011 peacefully at her home. She was born on September 21, 1944 in Sharpsburg, Ohio to the late Marion (Willard) and Maggie Hill Norris. Lenora known as "Sissie" to most of her friends and family was an employee of Monterey Nursing Home as an LPN, Planned Parenthood, Heinzerling Foundation, and the Columbus Dispatch. She was also a devoted member and officer of the Columbus Southern Pines Lions Club since 1989. Sissie is survived by her husband John R. Fischer Jr. of Columbus, her three children, Lisa (Cliff) Barnes of Columbus, Angela (Mark) Corwin of Columbus, and Rodney (Tiffani) Fischer of Ashville, one brother, Melvin Norris of Amesville, and her 5 grandchildren, April, August, Josh, Ryan and Kennedi and several nieces and nephews. She is preceded in death by her parents, three brothers, Ronnie, Gary, and Eddie Norris, and three sisters, Donnie Mayle, Garnet Norris, and Goldie Stevens. Sissie was a devoted mother and grandmother, civil servant and volunteer. She was a woman of great sprits and laughs and will be greatly missed. Services will be held on Monday, October 31, 2011 at 1:00 P.M. at the Mt. Hermon Church near Amesville with Rev. Jim Blankenship officiating. Burial will follow in the Mt. Hermon Cemetery. Friends may call on the family on Sunday, October 30, 2011 from 4-7 P.M. at the Stone-Matheney Funeral Home in Chesterhill, Ohio and one hour prior to the services at the church.
