Les L. Cordray, 70, of McConnelsville, passed away on Friday, April 29, 2022 at his residence.  He was born on February 9, 1952 in Mt. Vernon, Ohio to the late Edward and Frances Payne Cordray. He worked as a self-employed carpenter.  He was a member of the Eagles Post 2187 in McConnelsville and was a life time member of the AMVETS Post 95 in Mt Vernon.  He is survived by his wife of 43 years, Marlene Dovenbarger Cordray of the home, a daughter, Charlene (Phil) Eckert of Stockport, 2 brothers, Larry (Janot) Cordray of McConnelsville and Raymond (Michelle) Cordray of Gainesville, Georgia, a sister, Diane Bowles of Mt. Vernon, 3 grandchildren, Davis, Daryk and Devan, 2 special granddaughters, Miranda and Shasta, 2 great grandchildren, Zadyn and Zander, 5 nephews and a niece.  He is preceded in death by his parents.  A visitation will be held on Weds, May 4, 2022 from 5-7 P.M. at the Matheney Funeral Home in McConnelsville.  To send a note of condolence to the family go to www.matheneyfh.com.
