Lois M. Elliott, 89, of 261 Oakwood Drive, McConnelsville, passed away at 8:45 p.m. Sunday, Dec. 4, 2011 at 8:45 p.m. at the Genesis Morrison House in Zanesville.

She was born August 22, 1922 in Zanesville to the late Clarence C. and Bertha S. Stoneburner Macruder.

Lois was a graduate of the Good Samaritan School of Nursing in Zanesville and worked as a registered nurse at Good Samaritan and Bethesda Hospitals. She also worked at Parmiter Nursing Home and Mark Rest Center for many years.

She served in the U. S. Army as an Army nurse during World War II and was stationed at Camp Atterbury in Indiana. She was a member of the Malta United Methodist Church and the Valley Chapter No. 19 Order of the Eastern Star of McConnelsville.

Mrs. Elliott is survived by a daughter, Deborah K. (Nicolaas) Dubbeling of Zanesville; and a son, William P. Elliott of McConnelsville.

In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, William M. Elliott, and a brother, Rev. Charles E. Macruder.

Calling hours will be Wednesday, Dec. 7, from 1-3 p.m. at the Miller-Huck Funeral Home in McConnelsville, where funeral services will be held at 3 p.m. that day.

The burial will be in Malta Cemetery.
