Obituary

Lurman Edward (George) Flowers, 68, of Stewart, passed away at 10:30 p.m. on Thursday, Sept. 6, 2012 at his residence following a long illness. He was born January 28, 1944 in Stewart, a son of the late Elza Flowers and Nellie Singer Flowers of Stewart. He was a Peacetime Army Veteran and a Machinist for Miba in McConnelsville, Ohio. In addition to his mother, he is survived by his widow, Viola (Sue) Lucas Flowers of the home; two daughters, Rose Butcher and husband, David of Stewart, and Kim Jones and husband, Fred of Cutler; eight grandchildren; one brother, Allen Flowers and wife, Joyce of Glouster; eight sisters, Velma (Bob) Hill of McConnelsville, Wanda (Jerry) Norris, Doris (Dave) Brent, Janet (Levi) Brent, all of Zanesville; Deborah Flowers of Stewart, Stella Mayle of Columbus, Ella (Ray) Mayle of Canton, and Sherry (Richard) Morgan of South Carolina. In addition to his father, he was preceded in death by one brother, Leon Flowers. At Lurman's request, a caring cremation took place and there will be no services.
