Marcella K. “Marci” Murphy, 59, of Malta passed away on Tues, July 28, 2026 at the Genesis Hospital in Zanesville. She was born on Aug. 31, 1966 in Zanesville to the late Dewey and Maxine Roberts Thomas. She was the office manager of McDonalds in McConnelsville where she worked for many years. She is survived by her husband of 36 years Tom Murphy of the home, a son, Bryan (Angela) McDaniel of Atoka, Oklahoma, a daughter, Chelsea Murphy of Malta, 2 step-daughters, Nicole (Whitney) Blake of Zanesville and Beth (Jeremy) Morrow of Malta, a sister, Sandy Barkhurst of McConnelsville and 2 grandchildren. She is preceded in death by her parents, 2 brothers, Buddy and Billy Thomas and a sister, Susan Hoover. A celebration of life will take place on Thurs, July 30, 2026 from 12-3 P.M. at the Malta V.F.W. Matheney Funeral Home in McConnelsville is handling the arrangements.
