MCCONNELSVILLE: Marjorie E. Spencer, age 83, of State Route 60, McConnelsville, OH, died at 2:38 p.m. April 25,2010 in Riverside Hospital, Columbus, OH. She was born July 20,1927 in Stockport, OH, the daughter of Denzel and Laverta Frye Gheen. She worked as a cook at Mark Rest Center in McConnelsville for several years and was a Methodist by faith. She is survived by her husband, Oran W. Spencer; three sons, Ronald (Lois) Spencer of Belpre, OH, Larry (Jane) Spencer of McConnelsville, OH, and Roger (Connie) Spencer of Stockport, OH; two daughters, Charlene (Larry) Zumbro of McConnelsville, OH, and Donna (Terry) Work of McConnelsville, OH; five brothers, Leonard Gheen of Parkersburg, WV, Paul Gheen of Belpre, OH, Clinton Gheen of Parkersburg, WV, Elmer Gheen of Beverly, OH, and David Gheen of Malta, OH; two sisters, Josephine Brookover of Orlando, FL, Ruth Geer of Parkersburg, WV; 11 grandchildren; and several great and great great grand- children. Preceding her in death are her parents; one sister, Martha McDaniel. Funeral services will be held Thursday, April 29, 2010 at 11:00 a.m. at the Matheney Funeral Home, Kennebec Ave., McConnelsville, OH, with Rev Bill Bentley officiating, burial wil be in the Oakland Cemetery near Stockport, visitation will be Wednesday, Aprial 28, 2010 from 2-4 and 7-8 p.m. at the funeral home.
