John Marquis "Mark" Clemens Obituary John Marquis "Mark" Clemens, 80, of Malta passed away at 9:45 p.m. Thursday, March 15, 2018, at his home with family by his side. He was born November 19, 1937, in McConnelsville, to the late John Jr. and Aileen "Short" Masterson Clemens. At the start of his career, he worked for the Clawson Lumber Co. Then, he went on to work for George Igle Construction Company. After this, he worked for The L.E. Myers Co., a high-line construction company, where he worked for 22-years. With his brother, Bill, he bought the Gessel Tractor and Implement Sales in Malta which later became the Clemens Ford Tractor and Fertilizer Sales. They owned and operated this for 19-years. Mark also started Clemens Farms, which is family owned and operated still today. He enjoyed his years on the farm where he got to see his children, grandchildren, and great-grandchildren grow up. His family was of the utmost importance to him. He was a member of the American Legion of McConnelsville and V.F.W. of Malta. He is survived by his wife of 60 years, Joyce I. Porter Clemens, of the home; four children, Nanclyn (late Bill) Clemens Thomas, Casey Clemens, Daniel (Jennifer) Clemens, and David (Rebecca) Clemens of Malta; siblings Jerry Lou (Bill) Clemens Matheney, Phyllis Clemens Dearinger, James Clemens, Samuel Clemens, and Jack (Trudy) Clemens of Malta; nine grandchildren, Joshua (Tiffany) Davis, Adrienne Thomas, Cody Clemens, Shelbi Clemens, Brady Clemens, Clayton Clemens, Courtney (Brady) Clemens Van Horn, and Vada Clemens of Malta, and Aron (Kassidie) Thomas of Caldwell; as well as six great-grandchildren, Avery, Ian, Jaycey, Mikinzee, Madix, and William. His parents, two siblings Edith Clemens (Rucker) and William "Bill" Clemens, and grandson, Dustin Davis precede him in death. The family will welcome friends from 4-7 P.M. on Sunday, March 18, 2018, with funeral services to be held March 19, 2018 at 11:00 A.M. at the Matheney Funeral Home in McConnelsville with Tim Van Horn officiating. Mark will be laid to rest in Deerfield Cemetery in Malta. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to your local church or the barn fund for the Morgan Co. Agriculture Society because Mark loved the Morgan Co. Fair.
