Marlyn "Sue" Gavin, 86, of Malta, passed away Friday, August 5, 2022, after a short illness. She was born October 20, 1935 to Derwood and Ruby Jones. She worked at the Reed's Dairy Whip, Community Action, and Malta Windows. She was a member of the Main Street Church of Christ. She is survived by her daughter Jane (Larry) Spencer; brother Bob (Claudia) Jones; grandchildren Barry (Janine) Eppley, Joel (Rochelle) Eppley, Jennetta (Shawn) Waite, Mitch (Jess) Spencer, and Danielle (Steve) Williams; 11 great-grandchildren; and many beloved nieces and nephews. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, Earl "Wayne" Gavin and 2 sisters, Patsy Mendenhall and Elaine (Ferguson) Brush.  Funeral Services will be held on Monday, Aug. 8, 2022 at 1:00 P.M. at the Matheney Funeral Home in McConnelsville with burial following in the Malta Cemetery.  Friends may call on the family from 11-1 PM on the day of the services.  To send a note of condolence to the family go to www.matheneyfh.com.
