Mary Grace Chalfant, 97, of Malta, passed away on Weds., May 16, 2018 at the Highland Oaks Nursing home in McConnelsville. She was born on Dec. 7, 1920 in Dafter, Michigan to the late Thomas and Agnes Welch Armstrong. She worked as a bookkeeper for Armstrong Steel in Columbus. She is survived by her son Joie and Jean McDonald of Malta, a stepdaughter, Della Lowery of Trimble, 6 grandchildren, 10 great grandchildren and 14 great great grandchildren. She is preceded in death by her parents, 5 brothers, Jack, Grover, Brice, Stanley and Mike Armstrong, 2 sisters, Evelyn Maleport and Doris Harrison, a step-son, Roland Chalfant, 1st husband, Alexander "Mac" McDonald and her 2nd husband, Glen Chalfant. Graveside services will be held on Sat., May 19, 2018 at 1:00 P.M. at the Malta Cemetery.
