Mary Lou Conroy, 83 of McConnelsville, died on Monday, May 21, 2012 at 9:00 A.M. at the Highland Oaks Nursing Center in McConnelsville. She was born on April 28, 1929 in Cumberland Maryland to the late Edward and Amelia Fryer Thimmes. She was a homemaker and a lifetime member of the V.F.W. Post #4719 Ladies Auxiliary in Gahanna, Ohio. She is survived by her husband William E. Conroy of the home, 1 son, Robert (Margaret) Gessner of Simpsonville South Carolina, 1 step-son, William E. (Cynthia) Conroy II of Granville, 1 daughter, Joyce ( Mitchell) Hanson of Dayton, 2 step-daughters, Connie Rust of McConnelsville and Lorene Havens of Apex, North Carolina, 1 granddaughter, Heather Gessner of Simpsonville, South Carolina, 1 grandson, Christian Hanson of Dayton, 1 step-granddaughter, Ashley Havens of Apex, North Carolina, 1 step-grandson, Branden Havens of Apex, North Carolina, and many cousins and friends. She is preceded in death by her parents and 1 son, Gregory Gessner. Graveside services will be held on Friday, May 25, 2012 at 11:00 A.M. at the St. Josephs Cemetery in Lockbourne, Ohio. Friends may call on the family on Thursday, May 24, 2012 from 2-6 P.M. at the Matheney Funeral Home in McConnelsville.
