Mary Alice Dunn, 59, of Malta, OH, passed away at her home on Tuesday, November 14th, 2017 at 2:26am. She was born on November 4th, 1958 in Chesterhill, OH and is preceded in death by her parents Charles H Dunn and Bernita J (Benjamin) Dunn. She attended Pennsville School and graduated 8th grade in 1973; she went on to graduate Morgan High School class of 1977. She received a Bachelor of Specialized Studies from Ohio University in Early Childhood Studies. She worked as a Nurse's Aide at Mark Rest Center and as an Early Intervention Specialist for Morgan and Perry Counties. She also served as a Lay Speaker and Minister for the Methodist Church. She enjoyed immersing herself in the adventures of a good book. Soaking in the beauty of God's creation during long treks through the wood and was a safe haven for all creatures who found themselves lost. But most importantly she loved with a depth only rivaled by the ocean. She is survived by her son David B (Amanda) Goldberg of Marietta, OH; two daughters, Joeina C (George) Waldenga of Tacoma, WA and Michelle E (Harley McMannis) Goldberg of Malta, OH; one brother Dan H Dunn of Malta, OH; one sister Julie (Dennis) Fortney of Malta, OH; and five grandchildren: Simon, Levi, Lydia, Elizabeth and Eva.She is preceded in death by her parents. Services will be held on Friday, November 17, 2017 at 11:00 A.M. at the Matheney Funeral Home in McConnelsville with pastor Leeann Dunlap officiating. Burial will follow in the Pennsville Cemetery.
