Obituary

Mary R. Faires, 89, of Stockport died Saturday, September 5, 2009 at St. Frances Community Hospital in Greenville South Carolina. She was born January 2, 1920 in Tarentum Pennsylvania to the late William S. and Bessie Seibert Griffith. She was a nurse at Rocky Glen Sanitarium in McConnelsville and a homemaker. She was a member of the Stockport United Methodist Church where she was a Sunday School Teacher, a Girl Scout leader and loved attending ball games and Buckeye football with her husband Hank. She is survived by three daughters, Lucile Crist of Tucson Arizona, Becky Cooley and Susie Hutchinson both of Stockport, five grandchildren, Craig, Mark, Stacy, Erik, and Scott, three great grandchildren, Katelyn, Aiden, and Xander, and one nephew, Bill Treese. She was preceded in death by her parents, husband Frank (Hank) Faires (April 3, 2009) whom she married November 10, 1946, one sister, Virginia Treese, two brothers, Harold and William Griffith. Graveside services will be held at her request on Friday, September 11, 2009 at 5:00p.m. at the Stockport Cemetery with Rob Tuttle Officiating. In lieu of flowers donations may be made to the Stockport United Methodist Church or to the Stockport Volunteer Fire Department.
