Mary Lou Harlow Buchanan, 80, of McConnelsville, passed away at 4:05 p.m. Wednesday, March 19, 2014, at the Marietta Memorial Hospital. She was born August 15, 1933, to the late Queenie Norton and Henry Harlow. She married Herbert Buchanan Sr. on January 24,1950. Mary Lou is survived by her husband of 64 years; two sons, Joe (Amy) Buchanan of Stockport, Jim (Barb) Buchanan of Grove City; four daughters, Barb (Steve) Edgell of Kingwood, Texas, Brenda (Ed) McCoy of McConnelsville, Bea (Raymond) Gheen and Bonnie (Steve) Hopkins, both of Malta; 14 grandchildren; seven step-grandchildren; 21 great-grandchildren, with one more soon to arrive; and several step-great-grandchildren; one brother, Jim (Shirley) Harlow; one sister, Ann (Cecil) Reed; and one sister-in-law, Maxine Harlow. She was preceded in death by her parents; her mother- and father-in-law; two brothers; one son; one daughter-in-law; and a grandson. She was a devoted wife, mother, grandmother, great-grandmother and friend. She loved all and was loved by all. Calling hours will be from 6 to 8 p.m. Saturday, March 22, at the Miller-Huck Funeral Home in McConnelsville. At her request, a caring cremation will take place.
