Mary Alice Hooper Wayne 78. of McConnelsville passed away on August 20, 2010 at her home.She was born February 26, 1932 to Everett and Bessie Gorrel Combs . She graduated in 1950 from Manchester High School and married Denzil (Beanie) Hooper on December 9, 1950. She was a member of the McKendree United Methodist Church and the Neelyville CCL Club. Mary Alice and Denzil were the parents of five children: Marjorie (Jay ) Hall, Jesse (Sherry), Jim (Vickey), Mavis, and Jared (Sheryl) Hooper.She was preceded in death by her parents , her first husband Beanie Hooper, and brothers: Walter Wortman, Bernard Combs, Don Combs, and sisters Myrna Myers and Bernice Huck. She is survived by her husband, Clell Wayne whom she married June 3, 1992, Children, step-son Kenny Wayne, eight grandchildren: Dan (Jennifer) Hooper, Katie (David) Fair, Amy (Todd) Peeples, Abbie (Ben) Roth, Jed (Jenny) Hooper , Nora, Olivia and Lillie Hooper, and eight great grandchildren: Lauryn and Emma Hooper, Chase, Sierra, Amanda and Jesse Fair, Aubrey Peeples, and Hamer Hooper, and brothers: Fred (Lorraine) Combs, Bob (Barbara) Combs and sister, Linda (Ron) Horne. At her request a private funeral service will be held Monday, August 23, 2010 at the McKendree United Methodist Church with Reverend Bracken Foster officiating. Burial will follow in McKendree Cemetery. In lieu of flowers memorial contributions may be made to the American Cancer Society or the M&M Fire Dept. 77 S 4th Street McConnelsville, Ohio 43756.
