Mary Lou Kern, 93, of McConnelsville, formerly of Stockport passed away at 4:10 p.m. Tuesday Oct. 2, 2012, at the Highland Oaks Health Center in McConnelsville.

She was born May 22,1919 in Stockport to the late Clarence Ellis and Marie Grub Ellis.

Mary Lou was retired from the Clevite Corp. of McConnelsville, where she had worked for many years. She was also a member of the Stockport United Methodist Church.

She is survived by a daughter, Madelon (Paul Gene) Bowman of McConnelsville; two sons, Paul (Irene) Kern of Cincinnati and Richard (Donna) Kern of Palmetto, FL; seven grandchildren; and five great -grandchildren.

In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, Weir Kern; two sisters, Garnet Cooley and Benita Dalzell; and a brother, Curtis Ellis.

Calling hours will be Saturday, Oct. 6, from 10 to 11 a.m. at the Miller-Huck Funeral Home in McConnelsville, where funeral services will be held at 11 a.m.

Mary Lou will be laid to rest next to her husband, Weir, in the Stockport Cemetery.
