Mary Ellen VanHorn, 82, of Chesterhill, passed away Sun. Mar. 15, 2026, at her residence. She was born Mar. 7, 1944, in Chesterhill and was a Home Health Aide. She is survived by her husband Richard L. VanHorn of the home; 2 sons, Todd and Carl VanHorn, both of Chesterhill; daughter, Sherry White of Beverly; 2 brothers, Jim Byers of Athens and Philip Byers of The Plains; 2 sisters, Sharon Byers of Athens and Dorothy Pilos of Florida; 16 grandchildren and several great-grandchildren. She is preceded in death by her parents, stepfather, daughter, Sheryl Mayle; and sister, Evelan Byers. Stone-Matheney Funeral Home in Chesterhill is handling a caring cremation for the family.
