Mathias J. Pitz 82, of Stockport, passed away at 8:10 p.m. July 20, 2021 at his home. He was born February 28, 1939 in North Aurora, Illinois the son of the late, Emil Pitz and Mary Popp. He was retired from Malta Manufacturing and a member of the St. James Catholic Church in McConnelsville and a Veteran of the U.S. Army. He is survived by his daughter, Susezette Mayfield of Stockport; three grandchildren, Brandy, Jonathan and Amanda;  three great grandchildren, sister, Roseanne Torres; and a brother, Frances Pitz. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his wife, Georgia Pitz who died Dec.15, 2013; sisters, Clara Wheeler, Mary Ann Gribble and Teresa Nanniga. Friends may call 12 to 2 p.m. Friday, July 23, 2021 at Tabor Ridge Church of Christ near Todds, where a graveside service will follow at 2:00 p.m. at the Tabor Ridge Cemetery with military rites by the Morgan County Veterans. MIller-Huck Funeral Home in McConnelsville is entrusted with arrangements.
