Obituary

Mavis D. Manning, 83, of McConnelsville passed away Tuesday, November 2, 2021  at her home. She was born August 25, 1938 in Center Township, Morgan County a daughter of the late, Albert Marshall and Belva Boney Marshall. Mavis was a retired school bus driver for Morgan Local Schools where she drove for 28 years. She was a member of the First Presbyterian Church of McConnelsville and the Beverly Eagles Club. Mavis enjoyed going on outings with her friends and spending time with her grandchildren and great grandchildren.  She is survived by a daughter, Rebecca (Steve) Sherman of McConnelsville;  three sons, Russel Rusty (Annette) Reed of McConnelsville, Marion Dean (Linda) Reed of  Newark, Marshall Dee (Marla) Reed of  Stockport; 12 grandchildren; and 20 great grandchildren. Also surviving are two sisters, Ailene Barnes and Ina Belle Barnes; and a brother, John Marshall all of McConnelsville; a step daughter, Joy Harmon of Malta; two step grandchildren, Geoff (Kristy) Harmon, Greg Harmon; and several step great grandchildren; a sister-in-law, Barbara Reed. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her first husband, Roy Reed;  second husband, Paul Robert Manning; and a grandchild, Shelly Reed Linton. Calling hours will Thursday, November 4, 2021 from 10 a.m. - 12 p.m. at Miller-Huck Funeral Home where funeral services will be held at 12 p.m. with Pastor Gregory Marquis officiating. Mavis will be laid to rest in Ark Springs  Cemetery. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to Ark Springs Cemetery Association 3005 Palmer Dr. Chandlersville, Ohio 43727.
