Melanie M. Bowman, 63, of Chesterhill, passed away on Tues, Aug. 22, 2023 at the Highland Oaks Nursing Home in McConnelsville.  She was born on Feb. 20, 1960 to the late Richard and Patty Jones Mendenhall.  She worked at the Mark Rest Center for over 14 years and then retired from Dollar General in McConnelsville.  She loved feeding and watching her birds.  She is survived by her husband Kenny Bowman of the home, a step-son, Justin Bowman of Pennsville, a step-daughter, Jamie Bowman of Chesapeake, Va, 2 brothers, Rick (Cheryl Smith) Mendenhall and Danny Minzler both of McConnelsville, 2 sisters, Vicky Melvin and Micky (Turk Flowers) Pierce both of McConnelsville, 2 grandsons and several nieces and nephews.  She is preceded in death by her parents.  Services will be held on Fri, Aug. 25, 2023 at 1:00 P.M. at the Stone-Matheney Funeral Home in Chesterhill with burial following in the Chesterhill Cemetery.  Friends may call on the family from 11-1:00 P.M. on the day of the services.  To send a note of condolence go to www.matheneyfh.com.
