Michael W. Sumner, 67, of Malta, passed away on Sat. Sept 28, 2024 at his residence.  He was born on Jan. 11, 1957 in Vicco, Kentucky to the late James and Joyce Daniels Sumner.  He worked as a coal miner until his retirement.  He is survived by 2 brothers, Marcus Sumner and Matthew Sumner and a sister, Scynthia Cosgrave.  He is preceded in death by his parents.  A service will be held at a later date back in Kentucky.  Matheney Funeral Home is handling a caring cremation for the family.
