Nina L. Diehl Smith, 70, of Chesterhill died on Friday June 29, 2012 at the Hocking Valley Community Hospital in Logan. She was born on March 6, 1942 in Chesterhill to the late Coleman and Olive Abel Diehl. She retired from the Morgan County School System after serving for over 30 years. She was a Methodist by faith and loved to raise her English Bull dogs. She is survived by 2 sons, Lincoln (Rhonda) Smith of McConnelsville, and Thomas (Monica) Smith of Frisco, TX, 2 daughters, Deborah (Dick) Wilson of McConnelsville and Christy (Barry) Schneider of Logan, 2 sisters, Joan Brown of Mantua and Rita Thatcher of Sequim, Washington and 4 grandchildren, Alex, Grant, Nicholas and Tayler. She is preceded in death by her parents, husband, Robert "Merlyn" Smith, 1 brother, Conrad Diehl and 1 sister, Rosa Talbott. There will be a private graveside service on Tuesday, July 3, 2012 at 11:00 A.M. at the Chesterhill Union Cemetery. Stone-Matheney Funeral Home in Chesterhill is handling the arrangements.
