Norma J. Scott, 81, of McConnelsville, passed away on Sunday, Dec. 16, 2018 at her residence. She was born on March 21, 1937 in Murrysville, West Virginia to the late Nelson and Hazel Swain pierce. She worked as a nurse's aide at the Mark Rest Center in McConnelsville. She was a member of the Tabor Ridge Church of Christ and enjoyed working with her arts and crafts. She is survived by 3 sons, Steve Scott of Albany, Dean Scott of Stockport and Cliff Scott of McConnelsville, 3 daughters, Sherry Smith of Port Clinton, Misty Ball of Beverly and Shonie Hjelmstad of Knoxville, TN, 1 brother, Junior Ferguson of Malta, 3 sisters, Betty Gorrel of Pennsville, Rosie Violand of Aliquippa, PA, and Charlotte Smith of Pennsboro, WV, 14 grandchildren, 28 great grandchildren and several great great grandchildren. She is preceded in death by her husband, Gary R. Scott, 3brothers, and 3 sisters. A visitation will be held on Thursday, Dec. 20, 2018 from 11-2 P.M. with a funeral following at 2:00 P.M. at the Matheney Funeral Home in McConnelsville.
