McConnelsville Paul E. Alexander, 81 of 11510 Spratt Lane Chandlersville passed away at 11:35 am March 12, 2011 at the Marietta Memorial Hospital in Marietta. He was born July 23, 1929 in Junction City, Ohio son of the late Joseph Alexander and Rozella Hamilton Alexander. He was a farmer and retired from the Central Ohio Coal Company, Army Veteran of th Korean Conflict, member of the American Legion Post 24 of McConnelsville, and was a self-employed truck driver. He was also a member of the Freeland Valley Antique Tractor Club and former member of the Neelysville Church of Christ. He is survived by his wife, Vera Reed Alexander whom he married August 14, 1950; one daughter, Janice (Robert) Geary of Stockport; one son, Darin (Kimberly) Alexander of Zanesville; six grandchildren, Brea (Chris) Earich, Brandi (Justin) Bowman, Cody Alexander, Jordan Alexander, Matt (Lindsay) Abbott, and Nicole Abbott; four great-grandchildren; Kyle Earich, Cole Earich, Gabriella Alexander and Bane Alexander. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by one son, Hugh Alexander, and one brother, Delmar Alexander. Friends may call 2-4 pm and 6-8 pm Tuesday, March 15, 2011 at the Miller-Huck Funeral Home in McConnelsville. Services will be held at 11:00 am Wednesday, March 16, 2011 at the funeral home with Pastor Galen Finley officiating. Burial with military honors by the Morgan County Veterans will be in Duncan Falls Cemetery. Memorial contributions may be made to the M&M Fire Department 77 S. 4th St. McConnelsville or to the Morgan County Veterans Firing Squad. Condolences may be sent to the family at www.miller-huck.com.
