Paul E. Bebout 93, of McConnelsville, passed away at 5:57 p.m. on August 14, 2015 , at the Primrose Retirement Community in Zanesville. He was born March 3, 1922, in Dale, Ohio the son of the late Carl Bebout and Mary Warfield Bebout. He worked 33 years for the Central Ohio Coal Co. in various capacities. He was a member of the Church Of The Gospel Ministry in McConnelsville, served in WWII with the 101st Airborne Division. He was a Boy Scott Leader, a Little League coach, school board member, Mason and Shriner. He was a life member of the Veteran Of Foreign Wars, American Legion , and Military Order of Purple Heart. In 2004 Paul was invited by the French Government to Paris on the 60th Anniversary of D-Day where he was made a knight of the French Court and received the Legion Of Honor. He is survived by a sister ,Mary Lee Fuller of Phoenix, AZ, six children Chuck (Helen) Bebout of Spring Hill, FL, Tom (Charlene) of Milford, Ohio, Carl (Anita) Bebout of Pataskala, Ohio, William Bebout of Clermont, FL, Kathy Bebout of McConnelsville, OH, John (Chris) Bebout of Crooksville, Oh, as well as seventeen grandchildren and fourteen great grandchildren. In addition to his parents he was preceded in death by his wife of 67 years, Annabelle Stacy Bebout, a grandson Paul E. Bebout, and a daughter Connie Bebout King, as well as two sisters, Laura Bebout Brooks, Marjorie Bebout Smith, and four brothers Eugene , James, Rupert, and Gary. Calling hours will be held from 4 to 7 p.m. Tuesday, Aug . 18, 2015 at the Church Of The Gospel Ministry in McConnelsville where Masonic services will be held at 7 p.m. Services will be held at 11:00 a.m. Wednesay at the church with Pastor Galen Finley officiating. He will be laid to rest in Stockport Cemetery with military rites by the American Legion Post 24 Honor Guard. Miller-Huck Funeral Home in McConnelsville in charge of arrangements.
