Paul R. Bennett, 70, of McConnelsville, passed away peacefully at his home on Weds, March 26, 2025.  He was born on Sept. 21, 1954 in Chesterhill to the late Delbert and Jean Worthington Bennett.  He was a graduate of Morgan High School Class of 1973.  He loved the outdoors and enjoyed gardening, landscaping, watching Nation Geographic as well as watching wild life with his wife.  He was a devoted member of the Marietta Bible Center Church in Devola.  He is survived by the love of his life for 26 years Linda Sue Payne Bennett of the home, 3 step-sons, Jamie Sheets of Marietta, John Howell of Xenia and Russell Gavor of Oklahoma, a brother, Glendon Bennett of Chesterhill, 2 sisters, Linda Johnson of Coshocton and Carol Close of Coolville and 3 grandchildren.  He is preceded in death by his parents, a brother, Gary Bennett and a step-son, Shawn Sheets.  Services will be held on Mon, March 31, at 12:00 Noon at the Stone-Matheney Funeral Home in Chesterhill with burial following in the Chesterhill Cemetery.  Friends may call on the family 1 hour prior to the services.  In lieu of flowers donations may be made to the funeral home to help with funeral costs.
