Paul E. Custer, 78, of Dale, passed away on Sat. Oct. 2, 2021 at his residence.  He was born on Nov. 13, 1942 in Oak Hill, Ohio near Dale to the late Wilmer and Phoebe Young Custer.  He retired from the Warren Local Schools where he worked as a bus driver.  He is survived by his wife of 56 years, Edra Knox Custer of the home, 2 sons, Paul (Robin Barth) Custer Jr. of Marietta and Keith (Brenda) Custer of Amesville, a daughter, Anna Marie (John) Ptak of Phoenix, Az, a sister, Kathleen Dennison of Winston Salem NC, 18 grandchildren and 13 great grandchildren.  He is preceded in death by his parents, a sister Greta Lochary and a grandson Paul Custer the third.  Services will be held on Sat, Oct. 9, 2021 at 11:00 A.M. at the Stone-Matheney Funeral Home in Chesterhill with burial following in the Bartlett Cemetery.  A visitation will be held on Fri, Oct 8, 2021 from 5-8 P.M.  In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to Shriver's Hospice 601 Underwood St. Zanesville, Ohio 43701.  To send a note of condolence to the family go to www.matheneyfh.com.
