Peg Grove died Nov. 15, 2015, in McConnellsville, Ohio, at age 90 after a brief illness. She lived a full life. Calling hours will be held at Miller-Huck Funeral Home, 62 South Seventh St., McConnelsville, OH 43756 from 6-8 p.m. Tuesday, Nov. 17. In place of flowers, donations may be made to Bartlett Wesley Township VFD Auxiliary, 2060 State Route 550, Bartlett, OH 45713. Peg was born in Chicago in 1925 and attended Springfield High School in Illinois. She was the prettiest girl in her class. She was an active member of Westminster Presbyterian Church of Springfield. She worked many years at the Ohio State University as administrative assistant to the Dean of the College of Humanities, and later at Ohio University in the college of Arts and Sciences where she received the Administrator of the Year Award. Peg lived on Four Oaks Farm near Dale from 1974 where she raised Championship Quarter horses for many years. She was featured in the first issue of EQUUS magazine, and again in the late 1990's. She is predeceased by her parents, Frank and Vera Allison; her brother, Lt. Robert Allison, who received a Silver Star in World War II and gave his life in WWII; and her first grandchild, Emily Allison Grove. She is survived by her husband Jack Grove. Peg and Jack would have celebrated their 70th wedding anniversary on Nov. 23, 2015. She is also survived by three children, Robert "Bob" Grove of Stockport, Ohio, Anne Grove of Yakima, Wash., and Jennifer Grove of Louisville, Ky.; six grandchildren, Sidra Grove, Jacob Grove, Tobius Grove, Jordan Shriver, Alyson Grove and Niall Reynolds; and eight great-grandchildren, Ethan and Volund, Emmett and Chiara, Abigail and William and Jackson and Scarlett. She is also survived by "Star," her Sheltie Collie, and her cat, "Pudding."
