Philip C. Croston, 85, of McConnelsville, passed away on Sun. Jan. 6, 2019 surrounded by his family at his daughter's house in McConnelsville. He was born on June 22, 1933 in Zanesville to the late Roosevelt and Anna Stevens Croston. He retired after 39 years from the Burnham Boiler Co. in Zanesville where he worked as a Boilermaker. He was a member of the Chesterhill Church of Christ. He is survived by a son, Gail Croston of Malta, 6 daughters, Vonda Stevens of Chesterhill, Kathy Mayle of McConnelsville, Debra Brent of Newark, Stacy Croston of Malta, Amy Croston of McConnelsville and Misty Croston of Malta, a sister, Barbara Myers of Zanesville, 12 grandchildren and several great and great great grandchildren. He is preceded in death by his parents, wife, Shirley Mayle, a daughter, Juanita Croston, a son, Randy Croston, 4 brothers, Mark, Alan, Kennard and Danny Croston and a sister, Frances Mayle. Services will be held on Thur. Jan. 10, 2019 at 1:00 P.M. at the Stone-Matheney Funeral Home in Chesterhill with burial following in the Chesterhill Cemetery. Friends may call on the family on Weds.
