Phyllis Sue Curtis, 68, of McConnelsville, went home to be with her Lord and Savior on Monday, March 5, 2012 in Zanesville, Ohio.

She was born March 24, 1943, in Zanesville, a daughter of the late Alfred and Katherine Vanoster George.

She was a devoted Christian and longtime member of the Calvary Baptist Church in McConnelsville. She was also an LPN.

She is survived by her husband of 51 years, Chet Curtis Sr.; two sons, Chet Jr. (Wanda), and Mike (Twila); and a daughter, Sheryl (Jared) Hooper; grandchildren, Sheena (Rob) Cunningham, Tyrell Curtis, Kaywin Curtis, Timmy (Jennifer) Curtis, Casey Curtis, Melissa Curtis, Dylan and Joey Curtis, and Olivia and Nora Hooper.

She had seven much adored great-grandchildren and was looking forward to the eighth due in October. She is also survived by one sister, Linda (Bobby) Palmore; and four brothers Marvin (Carol) George, Duane George, Gary (Betty) George, and Allen (Stacey) George.

In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by one great-granddaughter.

Calling hours will be held from 6 to 8 p.m. Tuesday, March 6, at the Miller-Huck Funeral Home in McConnelsville, and one hour prior to the services that will be 11 a.m. Wednesday, March 7, at the Calvary Baptist Church near McConnelsville.

Burial will follow in the Meigsville Cemetery.
