Ralph C. Ball, age 98, of Amesville, Ohio, died at 6:16 p.m. on Friday, December 11, 2009 at the Hickory Creek Nursing Home in The Plains, Ohio. He was born on April 18, 1911 in Amesville, the son of the late Herbert A. and Elizabeth F. Hogsett Ball. A 1931 graduate of Ames-Bern High School, Mr. Ball was a retired farmer and Limestone Quarry Operator. He attended the Wrightstown Christian Church and the Hooper Ridge Church of Christ. He is survived by 1 son: Ronald (Marilyn) Ball of Amesville, 2 grandchildren: Rhonda (Paul) Southall of Glouster, and Brenda (Keith) Custer of Amesville; 5 great grand children, 5 great-great grandchildren, 3 step great grandchildren, and 1 step great - great grand daughter; 2 sisters-in-law: Eloise Ball and Effie Dolan, both of Glouster; 1 brother-in-law: Tim (Betty) Dolan , also of Glouster. He was preceded in death by his parents, his wife, Katherine Eileen Dolan Ball, 1 brother: Glenn Ball and 2 grandchildren: Mary Jo and Keith Allen Ball. Services will be held at the Hooper Ridge Church of Christ on Tuesday, December 15, 2009, at 1:00 p.m. with Evang. Rodger Powell officiating. Burial will be in the Maplewood Cemetery in Glouster. Friends may call at the Stone-Matheney Funeral Home in Chesterhill on Monday, December 14, from 4-8 p.m. and one hour prior to the service at the Church on Tuesday.
