Randy L. Harrison, 62 of Malta, Died on Thursday, June 12, 2014 at the Morrison House Hospice in Zanesville. He and his wife Dee lived at their Big Oak residence for the last 37 years. He was born on July 25, 1951 in Zanesville to Carl and Kate Lewis Harrison. He retired from Sprint Telephone Company where he worked as a Lineman. He served his country in the U.S. Army during the Viet Nam era and was a member of the McConnelsville American Legion Post # 24. Randy enjoyed playing golf with his neighbor and friend George Sherer. You could find them chasing golf balls all over the Morgan County Fair Grounds as many as 4 or 5 times a week. He is survived by his mother, Kate Harrison of McConnelsville, wife Diane "Dee" Zumbro Harrison whom he married on Aug. 9, 1971, 3 sons, Rusty (Dannielle) Harrison of Stow, Brady (Mykah) Harrison of Munroe Falls and Rhett Harrison of Zanesville, 1 daughter, Missy (Casey) Myers of Malta, 1 brother, Larry (Jill) Harrison of Arizonia, 2 sisters, Jean (J.D.) Adams of Stockport and Judy Giffin of McConnelsville and 8 grandchildren. He is preceded in death by his father. A memorial service will be held on Friday, June 20, 2014 at 6 P.M. at the Matheney Funeral Home in McConnelsville. with military rites immediately following. Friends may call on the family from 4-6 P.M. on the day of the services. A caring cremation is taking place at Randy's request.
