Raymond E. Townsend, 85, of McConnelsville, passed away on Sunday, Jan. 13, 2019 at his residence. He was born on Dec. 20, 1933 in McConnelsville, Ohio to the late Everett Townsend and Charlotte Kuhn Taylor. He worked for many years for George Clemens Sohio Station in McConnelsville and retired from the Central Ohio Coal Company. He was a golden member of the McConnelsville Eagle's #2187 and a social member of the VFW Post # 4713 in Malta. He is survived by 4 daughters, Mary Spears of Malta, Martha Brosie of Zanesville, Carole Moler of McConnelsville and Eugenia Lyannas of New Mexico, Special grandson, Craig VanNess, granddaughters, Stacey Bodi, Traci Baker and Heather Stemm, grandson, Travis Kidd, several great and great great grandchildren, sister-in-law, Twyla Townsend, several cousins and his care giver and best friend, Brian Perry. He is preceded in death by his parents and his brother, Jerrold Townsend. In Lieu of flowers donations may be made to the Morgan County animal shelter of your choice.
