Richard K. Murphey, 78 of McConnelsville, died on Thursday, April 26, 2012 at 1:55 A.M. at the Riverside Methodist Hospital in Columbus. He was born on January 6, 1934 in Malta Ohio to the late Harold and Mary Green Murphey. He was a Toolmaker at Miba in McConnelsville for over 40 years. A member of The Nazarene Church in McConnelsville, Webb Masonic Lodge in Stockport, a life member of the VFW Post #4713 in Malta, an avid coon hunter, and loved to carve and whittle. He is survived by his wife Deloris Ditter Murphey of the home, 2 sons, Michael (Debbie) Murphey, and Brian Murphey both of McConnelsville, 5 grandchildren and 7 great grandchildren. He is preceded in death by his parents and 1 brother Lee Murphey. Services will be held on Monday, April 30, 2012 at 1:00 P.M. at the Matheney Funeral Home in McConnelsville with Pastor Dale Campbell officiating. Burial will follow in the Malta Union Cemetery. Friends may call on the family from 11-1 P.M. on the day of the funeral.
