Richard Lee Newton Sr., 82 of Chesterhill, died on Sunday, April 8, 2012 at 8:30 A.M. at the Riverside Country Care Center in McConnelsville. He was born on October 20, 1929 in Chesterhill to the Late George and Erma Michener Newton. He retired from Malta Manufacturing in Malta. He is survived by his wife Janet Lange Newton of the home, 4 sons, Lee (Marilyn) Newton of Malta, Stanley (Chrystal) Newton of Malta, Rodney Newton of Malta and Scott Newton of Zanesville, 2 daughters, Tammy Newton (Brian Cuffe) of Roseville, and Stephanie Newton of Chesterhill, 2 sisters, Maxine Scott of Chesterhill and Ilo Armstrong of Chesterhill, 7 grandchildren, Nancy, Jill, Sarah Russell (Rickie), Amy, Kendra Johnson (Charlie), Justin Caplinger (Kourtney) and Brittany Newton, several great grandchildren. He is preceded in death by his parents, 2 sons, John and Jeff Newton, 2 brothers, Clarence and Dow Newton, and 1 grandson, Ryan Newton. A caring cremation is taking place at the family's request.
