Richard L. Potts, 70, of Amesville, passed away at 3:32 a.m. Wednesday, May 12, 2010, at the OSU Medical Center in Columbus. He was born on May 1, 1940, in Malta, a son of the late John W. and Helen Pierce Potts. Mr. Potts was a retired building maintenance man and of the Protestant faith. Richard is survived by his widow, Janet Koon Potts of the home; six sons, Robert of Amesville, Gerald of McConnelsville, Charles and Jamie of Chesterhill, Mike of Belpre, and John of Amesville; two daughters, Elizabeth Cremeans of Belpre, and Laura Potts of New Marshfield; 12 grandchildren; and three great-grandchildren. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by three brothers, and one sister. Services will be at 2:30 p.m. Monday, May 17 at the Stone-Matheney Funeral Home in Chesterhill where friends may call from 12:30 p.m. until service time. Burial will be in the Mt. Hermon Cemetery, near Amesville.
