Richard E. "Rick" Hurst 64, of Stockport, passed away at 6:37 p.m. August 30, 2018 at OSU Hospital in Columbus. He was born February 11, 1954 in Zanesville the son of the late Richard E. Hurst Sr. and Hazel Phyllis Hurst. He worked at Malta Window Factory and was a member of the Stockport Church of Christ, he enjoyed racing dogs, OSU Football , Pittsburgh Steelers, family and long time friends ,and enjoyed playing cards at the VFW in Malta. He is survived by his wife, Sylvia Kay Propst Hurst whom he married Nov. 13, 1982; Stepchildren, Diana (Randall) Hart of Beverly, Kathy (Dwain) Sullivan of Stockport, and John Newsom and friend, Melissa of Stockport; eight grandchildren; and eight great granchildren; one sister, Sandra (Dee) Dille of Walhounding, Ohio, also survived by several Aunts, Uncles and cousins. Friends may call 2 to 5 p.m. Tuesday, Sept. 4, 2018, at Miller-Huck Funeral Home in McConnelsville, where services will be held at 5:00 p.m. with Evangelist Greg Marquis officiating.
