Richard L. Strode, Sr., 84, of Malta passed away Thursday, December 17, 2020 at his home. He was born February 27, 1936 in Malta to the late Emerson Strode and Wilma Benjamin Strode. Richard was retired from Gould Inc. where he had worked as a preventive maintenance and machinist. He was a veteran of the U. S. Army and was a member of the Calvary Baptist Church of McConnelsville. He is survived by a daughter, Pennie (Jim) Roth of Marion; a son, Richard L. (Debbie) Strode, Jr. of Malta; six grandchildren; and ten great grandchildren. Also surviving is a brother, Ray Strode of Brunswick, GA. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his wife, Phyllis A. Strode; two sisters, Joyce Ely, Betty Addis; a step sister, Bessie Marsh; and two brothers, Ralph and Stanley Strode. Calling hours will be Monday, December 21, 2020 from 12-1 p.m. at Miller-Huck Funeral Home where funeral services will be held at 1 p.m. with Pastor Tom Barton officiating.  Richard will be laid to rest beside his wife in Wiseman Cemetery with military honors.
